Buying video games is a tricky business. If you think there is one you really like, you could pay a lot of money for it and then end up not liking something about it or just not understanding how it's played and then what happens? It sits on the shelf and you are out the money.

Buying video games is a tricky business. If you think there is one you really like, you could pay a lot of money for it and then end up not liking something about it or just not understanding how it’s played and then what happens? It sits on the shelf and you are out the money. With used video games, you can avoid that. You buy cheaper games, try them out and then aren’t out much at all. But how do you decide what games you want?

Here are some of the top used video game systems and what the games are like with each:

FYI: Used Playstation 1 video games
There are still a lot of games out there to be played on the Playstation 1, including Crash Bandicoot, a game in the style of Mario and Sonic, which can be a lot of fun. Guiding Crash through the different levels and challenges will keep players of all ages interested.

Also on the Playstation 1 is the Die Hard Triology, which contains three games in one. As the hero of Die Hard you have to move through the Nakatomi Plaza building, a first-person shooting game and New York City. It’s a daunting adventure, sure, but still one of the best PS1 games out there to buy.

FYI: Used Playstation 2 video games
The Playstation 2 not only plays PS1 games, but adds an impressive roster of its own games that you can choose from as well.

You can start with the Sonic Mega Collection, which brings Sonic the Hedgehog to life in seven different games. Talk about value in a used game! This is probably the tops for value and will be a good experience for game players.

Also for the PS2 is a Simpsons’ game, Hit and Run. In it, you take Homer Simpson driving, trying to figure out what all those wasps are doing. You also try to keep from getting caught by Chief Wiggum.

Nintendo 64 video games
The Nintendo 64 may harken back to some of the old school games including, can you believe, Ms. Pacman? But this Ms. Pacman is unlike others you may know. The Nintendo 64 Ms. Pacman has 180 levels to get through.

Also on the Nintendo 64 games, there are the ever popular racing games. For this system, you may try to play Lego Racers or the more realistic Top Gear Rally.

Check out all of the consoles and the games associated with them and eventually you will find just the right fit for you.
