If you like the idea of learning more about wine, one of the best ways you can do this is by attending a wine tasting class.

If you love wine but you're not sure about all the wine terminology or just want to learn all about tasting wines and exploring wines from all over the world, joining a wine tasting class can be a really good idea. You may have been invited to a wine tasting party in the past and found you're knowledge to be lacking and perhaps felt a little embarrassed about it. If this is a case, a wine tasting class can really help in this department. What Will You Learn at a Wine Tasting Class? If you are interested in learning about wine there are many sources of information including the internet. Simply browsing the different internet sites you'll be able to find snippets of info about all sorts of wine related topics such as wine production and tasting. There are also hundreds of books written on the subject which go into wine to varying degrees. However if you feel you don't want to do this, you can learn much of what you need to know by enrolling in a wine tasting class. At a wine tasting class you can expect to learn all the basics of wine and wine tasting. Obviously how much you learn depends on the individual course and its length. When you request details of the course you will find out what is included however here is a list of what you might expect to learn. Wine
glasses are more important than many people think. At a wine course you will learn about the different types of glass, what wines should be drunk out of them and Bouquet is a term often used by wine buffs and has nothing to do with a bunch of flowers. The bouquet refers to how the wine smells as each wine can release a variety of different aromas. When tasting wines you will need to record your findings. Details will include the color and smell of the wine. Young and old wines have their own tastes and it's always impressive to be able to distinguish the two. You'll also be explained what turbulence in the wine means and what it means when a wine is almost transparent. You'll learn to judge red, white and rose wines as these should all be approached differently. If you observe other wine buffs you'll notice they always swirl the wine in the glass before drinking. This is an art which you will be taught otherwise you may find yourself spilling will all over your expensive evening wear. Although there is more the wine than the points covered above, this list will give you a taster of what to expect. The course should give you the confidence to talk about wine with your friends at wine tasting parties and get you enthused about learning even more on your own.
